Keith, give our readers a brief intro about what you do and how you got started.
Capstan Services was founded in 2013 with the goal of providing technology services that are designed around customer needs and not industry standards. We were different from the start and committed to no long-term contracts, eliminating the never-ending upsell cycle and making our services all-inclusive. Our model has been very successful and our customers love that they can budget a single price for there IT operations without needing to worry about constant add-on projects or junk fee's. It has been great for us since we have very little customer attrition!
What have been your biggest challenge(s) so far?
The Pandemic was a very large challenge for the Capstan Services team. We are highly automated and were uniquely positioned to work completely remote without any loss in productivity or service level. Where the challenge came in was with bringing out clients a place where they were ready to work 100% remote with minimal preparation time. Prior to the pandemic, most companies were starting to move services to the cloud, but they were making decisions based on cost/benefit to the business. Being able to move employees out of the office on short notice was not necessarily part of the equation.
We were extremely busy during the pandemic as we worked with most of our clients to find quick and reliable solutions to solve their remote work challenges. We were up to the task, but needed to juggle many projects that were all happening on the same timeline. We worked round the clock to build new systems, perform migrations and support many new systems with users who were not familiar with them. It was an exciting time but also quite chaotic and stressful. At the end we came out better, learned a lot and are better at what we do!
What you’re most proud of / what readers should know about your work / what sets you apart from others.
We are proud to be able to provide a level of service to our customers that is unparalleled by our competitors. We have built an amazing team that has built systems and processes that diverge from the generally accepted services to deliver a new level of service. Our secret sauce is a mixture of custom technologies, efficient processes and intense customer focus.
What does success mean to you / what gives you most gratitude?
At Capstan Services, our primary measure of success is delighting our customers. There are many aspects of what we do that contribute to customers being satisfied, but in the end this is our key goal.
What do you think is most unique about the city/population of Boca Raton and working with this community?
I not only work in Boca Raton but also call it home. Boca Raton is very unique and provides a great place to both work and play. Business thrives in Boca with many business parks and the unique development opportunities left behind on the old IBM campus. Boca also had wonderful retail business locations that exceed those available in surrounding communities. This makes Boca Raton a unique and effective place to do business.
